Start

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. – Arthur Robert Ashe, Jr

Wise words, interesting words. Start where you are. Where am I? I’m here and I’m starting. Some of you may know that I have been preparing and planning to start my secondary education, college, university, that place over there that has books.

I love the challenge of starting at zero every day and seeing how much I can accomplish. – Martha Stewart

My first class was last night, Woooooo. Introduction to Business Accounting (Note to self: See if you can find a more boring topic why don’t you) The first thing I noticed was I wasn’t alone. One of my biggest fears was that at 31 I was going to be one of the older students in the class. I guess that is one of the best things about attending class at night, I was no where near the oldest, in fact, I was probably the mean.

After you’ve done a thing the same way for two years, look it over carefully. After five years, look at it with suspicion. And after ten years, throw it away and start all over. – Alfred Edward Perlman

So onward I continue. I make the best of it and enhance my education. I think I’m a smart guy, but I’m sure this will prove I have much more to learn. I look forward to it, but I am a little unsteady, unsure, unknowing of the next few years as I work towards my goal. Tonight its Math, and completing out the week with Writing. So, what good comes from this? I may have more to blog about. You may have more to read.

Or I just may be a bit busy to know what is going on. At any rate. It’s a new decade, it’s a new beginning, and it’s the same old me.

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down. – Mary Pickford

  1. There are actually a lot of older students even in my day classes. Benefit of going to a community college in a mill town with many layoffs, if it can be called a benefit, LOL. Good luck. Is that the only class you are taking this quarter?

  2. Good for you!!! I’ve been thinking of taking some classes that would benefit me in Real Estate and business. You’re going to do GREAT! (have to keep up posted on how it goes)

  3. Congrats on the classes. Night classes were tough for me and accounting would bore me to death. Keep plugging away.
