I was thinking recently about all the advice I’ve ever received both personally and professionally. There is one thing that has always stuck with me; from my mom, who said, “If you want it bad enough, you’ll work hard enough to get it.” I’ve been thinking about that for the last couple of days and I wondered to my Twitter & Facebook friends, “What’s the best advice you’ve received?” Here are some of the responses.
From Facebook:
“you wanna live in my house, you either work or go to school”
“No sense being unhappy where you are because either way… you’re still there.”
“Teach your kids to be independent, not to cling to you for everything”
“whatever you do in life, be sure that you are truly happy.”
“Don’t shit in yer own nest.”
“You can make excuses, or you can make it happen.”
“Never ask someone else to do what you’re not willing to do yourself”
“Do not let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.”
“If you’re not good enough company for yourself, then you’re not good enough company for someone else”
“The world does not revolve around your ass!”
“If you never try by yourself you never know. You must make your own experience.”
“Don’t lie for your father”
From Twitter
“try to operate from kindness whenever possible because it doesn’t cost a cent.”
“Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you’re not good enough. Remember you’re amazing and you deserve the best.”
“love and respect others, even if their views/beliefs differ from yours.”
These are some nice things to remember. Enjoy.
