Quote of the Day – Anais Nin on Excitement

To be honest, I don’t know much about the wordsmith i’m quoting today. Though, as I dig through quotes daily, I find myself drawn to more and more of this person’s words. Here’s from Wikipedia: Anaïs Nin; born Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell, (February 21, 1903 – January 14, 1977) was a French-Cuban author, based at first in France and later in the United States, who published her journals, which span more than 60 years, beginning when she was 11 years old and ending shortly before her death. A great deal of her work, including Delta of Venus and Little Birds, was published posthumously.

Interesting. Anyways, I found this quote today and it sang to me. Which means it gets posted. 🙂

I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I cannot transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls. – Anais Nin
