Quote of the Day – Shel Silverstein on Laziness

Shel Silverstein is one of my favorite authors. The Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends brought us great characters as Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout, who would not take the garbage out, and such notions as a Hug o’War (seen below.) He wrote for children, but communicated with adults. If you haven’t read either book, you should go back and check them out from your library. 🙂

I believe that if you don’t want to do anything, then sit there and don’t do it, but don’t expect people to hand you a corn beef sandwich and wash your socks for you and unzip your fly for you. – Shel Silverstein
