Today’s quote is all about creativity and using the right materials to be creative. Here’s the key, all things are the “right materials.”
Everything is raw material. Everything is relevant. Everything is usable. Everything feeds into my creativity. But without proper preparation, I cannot see it, retain it, and use it. – Twyla Tharp

This trip in Lanai, Hawaii is absolutely breathtaking, peaceful, and downright awe-inspiring. We traveled around the shores of Lanai today and we saw this beautiful beach and this 1940’s shipwreck.
I really liked this quote. It was something that spoke to me. Mostly because I’m constantly thinking about how people perceive me and how I’m viewed in the world, sometimes too much. Sometimes I don’t care, but deep down, it affects me greatly.
I was raised to sense what someone wanted me to be and be that kind of person. It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else’s eyes. – Sally Field

An interesting, and smart, perspective. I hadn’t thought about things in this manner. A good reminder is always necessary. Happy Friday, my friends.
If we haven’t specified where we want to go, it is hard to set our compass, to muster enthusiasm, or to measure progress. But vision is not only missing almost entirely from policy discussions; it is missing from our culture. We talk easily and endlessly about our frustrations, doubts, and complaints, but we speak only rarely, and sometimes with embarrassment, about our dreams and values. – Donella Meadows

Today’s quote, a little levity for Friday. Sometimes, when we’re in the thick of this thing called life, we forget to laugh a little. So, take a moment, find something that you find humourous and have a giggle; it’ll do your soul good.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first, and whatever you hit, call it the target. – Ashleigh Brilliant

Today, I’d like all of us to remove negative self talk from our language. Remember to say to yourself at least once a day: “I’m worth it, I deserve this and I make a difference.” If you can’t say that to yourself, who is going to say it for you? — Just sayin’.
But I guess the lesson is this: If you don’t have confidence in yourself and think that you are worth hiring, or whatever it is, you can’t expect anyone else to. – Sam Donaldson

Today is MC Escher’s birthday. It is also Father’s Day in the United States. I thought about doing a father’s day quote, but instead found this wonderful quote from a spectacular artist. Happy Dad’s Day for all the fathers out there, anywho.
The result of the struggle between the thought and the ability to express it, between dream and reality, is seldom more than a compromise or an approximation. Thus there is little chance that we will succeed in getting through to a large audience, and on the whole we are quite satisfied if we are understood and appreciated by a small number of sensitive, receptive people. – M. C. Escher
