Happiness is simply a temporary condition that proceeds unhappiness. Fortunately for us, it works the other way around as well. But it’s all a part of the carnival, isn’t it? – Federico Fellini
Today’s quote really doesn’t need much introduction. I think it really does speak for itself. It’s message is bold and open.
To make bread or love, to dig in the earth, to feed an animal or cook for a stranger — these activities require no extensive commentary, no lucid theology. All they require is someone willing to bend, reach, chop, stir. Most of these tasks are so full of pleasure that there is no need to complicate things by calling them holy. And yet these are the same activities that change lives, sometimes all at once and sometimes more slowly, the way dripping water changes stone. In a world where faith is often construed as a way of thinking, bodily practices remind the willing that faith is a way of life. – Barbara Brown Taylor
I love quotes like this. This quote speaks to me about how we all can use happiness and our own paths to get there. Some of us lead big, “out loud” lives and some of us walk a little softer. It doesn’t mean anyone is wrong, just that we’re all going our own way. If anything, Fleetwood Mack taught us it was ok. 🙂
People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost. – H. Jackson Brown, Jr
Also, check out my blog roll to the right, I’ve tried to add some of my faithful visitors. Give them some love, too. 🙂
When looking for quotes, this one resonated with me. It just so happens to be Jackie O’s birthday, too. Fabulous.
You have to be doing something you enjoy. That is a definition of happiness: Complete use of one’s faculties along lines leading to excellence in a life affording them scope. It applies to women as well as to men. We can’t all reach it, but we can try to reach it to some degree. – Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
Today’s my 34th birthday. I’ve been extremely blessed this year. I’ve been given so much and been so fortunate this year that I feel like celebrating. Then I found this great quote. Seems like the most appropriate quote I could find for today. Let’s joggle along, shall we?
So, come all you young men. with your wicked, wicked ways. Sow your wild oats in your younger days. So that we may be happy when we grow old. Yes! happy and happy when we grow old. For the day’s getting on and the night’s getting long. Darling please gimme your arm and we’ll joggle along, yes, we’ll joggle and joggle and joggle along. – Errol Flynn
Today, I get a new sister-in-law. My Brother is getting married this evening, so today’s quote is about marriage.
All married couples should learn the art of battle as they should learn the art of making love. Good battle is objective and honest — never vicious or cruel. Good battle is healthy and constructive, and brings to a marriage the principle of equal partnership. – Ann Landers
